DVLA IT Services are undertaking a major transformation of our IT estate and organisation. We currently have an exciting opportunity within our IT Department for an IT Service Operations Manager. If you have a background in Service Operations Management and would like to be part of this journey this role will provide the challenge you are looking for.

We are looking for an IT Service Operations Manager with E-Commerce experience, who will ensure that DVLA's world class customer facing digital services, as well as DVLAs internal business services are delivered effectively and efficiently.

You will be heading up a team of 60+ resources that will be responsible for supporting and implementing the technology and processes to meet the future needs of our customers.

DVLA is already recognised as leading the way on delivering digital services for Government, and the next two years will be extremely challenging, with plans to deliver more digital services and continuing the major transformation of our legacy estate, utilising an in-house developed and supported set of services. Exciting times ahead!

Our services reach almost every household in the UK, the size and scale of which would be the envy of any UK E-Commerce service provider, so this is a unique opportunity to make a difference.

You will be accountable for IT Service Operations activities providing effective, strategic level, leadership for IT Service Operations including: -

• Incident Management
• Problem Management
• Service Desk - including Request Fulfilment & Access Management
• Event Management
• IT Service Continuity
• Availability & Capacity Management
• End User Computing

You will also set direction, drive performance outcomes, which will include: -

• Leading and managing a team of 60+ staff
• Building capability to meet customer expectation and satisfaction
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
• Working as part of a senior management team embedding E-Commerce best practice knowledge
• Developing your own skills and actively coaching and developing others
• Developing an understanding of DVLA's services
• Contributing to and supporting organisational change and embracing new ways of working

A knowledge of ITIL methodology, ideally with a Foundation level qualification is desirable
